A general introduction to Lacanian psychoanalysis.
The theories of Jacques Lacan have been widely applied to cultural studies, literature, gender studies, philosophy, arts, and so on. Lacan’s theories are notoriously obscure and complicated; the aim of the lecture is to provide an introduction to what is known as the Lacanian triad of Imaginary, Symbolic, and Real. With that aim in mind, the audience will also be introduced to other Lacanian concepts in order to be provided with the fundamental tools of understanding Lacanian psychoanalysis.
