Screening of the film Territory Without War and meeting with director Taya Zubova will be held in the Main building of CU FA, room P429 (cinema hall) on 4 March 2025 at 6:00 pm. The film is part of the course „Россия и мир в XXI веке: глобальные вызовы“. The film will be screened in Russian with English subtitles. Free admission with registration here.
In the film, citizens of three countries build a new world in Montenegro. Ukrainians: a family from Mariupol, a mother and child with cerebral palsy from Odesa, a girl who evacuated her parents from shelled Avdiivka. Conscientious objectors from Russia: a young man who walked across the Kazakhstan border and a family that did not want to send their father and husband to war. A couple in love from Russia, whose love was declared illegal by the state, recognizing LGBT+ as an „extremist organization“. Also, politically persecuted activists from Russia and Belarus.
The tragic stories of Ukrainians and the stories of persecuted activists have much in common. But there is something that unites them – love for their loved ones and the inability to return home because of the war.
