Hostující profesor Luc Van Doorslaer (KU Lovaň)

Ve dnech 12.–13. března 2015 bude pro nederlandisty i všechny ostatní zájemce přednášet hostující profesor – prof. dr. Luc Van ​​Doorslaer (Katolická univerzita Lovaň, Belgie). Tématem bude žurnalistika v nizozemskojazyčné oblasti a belgická jazyková a překladová politika. Přednášky se budou konat v místnosti číslo 319 a budou prosloveny v nizozemštině.

Luc van Doorslaer worked as an assistant at the University of Duisburg (Germany) and the University of Antwerp (Belgium) before finishing his PhD in Translation Studies at KU Leuven. He also worked at the Translation and Interpreting Department of Lessius in Antwerp, which was later fully integrated in the Arts Faculty of KU Leuven. He now is an Associate Professor in that Faculty, teaching both Journalism and Translation Studies. At the Antwerp campus of the Faculty, he is the Vice Dean for Research. Since 2014 he is also the director of CETRA, the Centre for Translation Studies at the University of Leuven. As a Research Fellow he is affiliated with Stellenbosch University (South Africa). Together with Yves Gambier, he is the editor of the online Translation Studies Bibliography (10th release 2013) and the four volumes of the new Handbook of Translation Studies (2010-13). Other recent books edited include Eurocentrism in Translation Studies (2013) and The Known Unknowns of Translation Studies (2014). His main research interests are: journalism and translation, imagology and translation, institutionalization of Translation Studies, bibliometrics.
