Anotace:

The educational sector is increasingly influenced by the current, ubiquitous and rapid ‘digital turn’. In some cases, the ‘turn’ comes close to an overturn, as illustrated by the heated discussions around the recent accessibility of open AI tools, such as ChatGPT. This lecture will provide an overview of the latest educational technologies that have affected how we learn and teach a foreign language. It will then introduce one of the key European frameworks, the so-called Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) Framework, and discuss its challenges and limitations within the context of foreign language education. Finally, it will offer some solutions to and implications for foreign language learning and teaching in the present human-machine era.
