The Faculty of Arts, Charles University, Invites You to a Lecture and Workshops on Translation Mining and semantic maps

The lecture “Translation Mining and Semantic Maps: A New Approach to Cross-Linguistic Research” will be held at the Faculty of Arts, Charles University, in room P104 on 2 April 2025 from 2:10 pm. Hands-on workshops will take place on Thursday 3rd and Friday 4th (9:00 am – 12:00 noon), P104, FF UK).

The Practical Czech Law Lecture Will Take Place on 19 March

This lecture provides a comprehensive overview of practical aspects of Czech law relevant to students. You will learn about visa and residency permit procedures in the Czech Republic, employment opportunities, distinctions between employment and business activities, and various types of contracts applicable in the Czech Republic. It will take place online from 4:00 pm.

Sergei Medvedev Will Present His Latest Book on Russian War in Ukraine

An academic from the Department of East European Studies at CU FA will introduce his publication, A War Made in Russia (Polity Press, Cambridge), in room P131 (Great Auditorium), on 16 November 2023 at 5 pm. A public discussion follows the presentation.

Historian Timothy Garton Ash Will Hold a Lecture „From Post-War Europe to Post-Wall Europe – and Back“

The lecture by a British historian and journalist is organized on the occasion of the Czech Presidency of the Council of the EU under the patronage of Mikuláš Bek, Minister for European Affairs. It is to be held on Wednesday, 16 November, from 10 am to 12 noon in the auditorium of the Faculty of Arts, Charles University (P131).
