The monograph written by an academic from the IECEBS at CU FA consists of eleven literary-historical studies and an appendix in the form of biographies of the authors. At the forefront of the studies is comparative research on Slovenian women authors in the Slovenian modern period, who have been either overlooked or under-researched in Slovenian literature.

Climate Strike at the Faculty of Arts, Charles University
From 15 to 17 November 2023, university students all over the Czech Republic are going to participate in a strike organized by the Universities for Climate initiative. Students of some faculties of Charles University will engage in this event as well. The goal of the strike is not to protest CU and its sustainability plan but to urge a social change necessary to solve the climate crisis.

Charles University has been recognised as one of the world’s premier institutions across all the disciplines it consistently offers in education and research, as found by the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2024 by Subject released Thursday. Professor Emeritus of Charles University Bohumila Mouchová Educated Generations of Czech Classical Philologists and Improved the Teaching of Latin and Related Disciplines
Prof Bohumila Mouchová is a prominent figure of Czech classical philology, a translator of classical languages, and an internationally recognized scholar in Latin language and ancient historiography. On 19 October 2023, the Research Board CU awarded her the Gold Medal of the Charles University for her scholarly contribution, her fundamental role in developing Czech research on ancient antiquity, and her intensive lifelong teaching activity in all spheres.
Prof Tomáš Halík Received Order of Tomáš Garrigue Masaryk I. Class
On 28 October 2023, the anniversary of the founding of independent Czechoslovakia, the President of the Czech Republic awarded an academic from the Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies at CU FA with one of the highest orders in the Czech Republic. He was awarded for his outstanding contribution to the development of democracy, humanity, and human rights.
Polish Studies at Czech Universities Celebrates a Centenary. CU FA Will Hold an International Conference as Part of the Celebration
The Institute of Ethnology, Central European and Balkan Studies at CU FA co-organises the conference on 17 October 2023. The opening ceremony will take place at 9:00 am in the Patriotic Hall in Carolinum, where a new travelling exhibition will also be presented, and the rest of the conference will be held at the main building of CU FA.
