Psychological Help

The recent events at the CU FA have left us all deeply saddened, and we extend our heartfelt condolences to those who have lost their loved ones. We understand that the impact of such tragic events can be profound. It is natural to experience a range of emotions and reactions during such difficult times, and we want to assure you that support is available.

Memorial Mass on 23 December

We would like to invite you to a memorial mass for the victims and injured of yesterday’s tragic event, which will be conducted tomorrow on Saturday, 23 December at 11 am in the St Vitus, Wenceslas and Adalbert Cathedral at Prague Castle.

Main Building of CU FA Is Closed

In connection with yesterday’s tragic event, a dean’s leave has been declared until 2 January. Unfortunately, access to the main building in nám. Jana Palacha 1/2 is not yet possible – the Police of the Czech Republic are still conducting an investigation.

Two Academic Groups from CU FA Are Successful in the Competition The University Research Centers (UNCE)

The competition is aimed at supporting young promising academics and researchers in the framework of the highest quality group basic research. Amongst them are now projects by the main researcher Prof Miroslav Petříček from the Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies at CU FA and Prof Václav Cvrček from the Institute of the Czech National Corpus.

The World of Literature Magazine Published a Special Issue “Kafka en Hispanoamérica” Dedicated to the 100th Death Anniversary of Franz Kafka

The special issue published in Spanish contains more than twenty studies focusing on the presence of Kafka’s work in the Hispano-American literature of the 20th and 21st century. The studies were written by renowned authors from eight countries from Europe and America. The editor of this issue is Prof Anna Housková from the Department of Romance Studies at CU FA.

Supply Chain the Focus of Czech-Taiwanese University Centre

Charles University, including the Faculty of Arts, took a historic step on Friday jointly launching a new Supply Chain Resilience Center together with the National Chengchi University in Taiwan. The centre is part of a multifaceted project that will research the stability of supply chains in the face of shifting factors and will help boost the semiconductor sector in the Czech Republic.

University of St Andrews and CU teams meet at Carolinum

Charles University and delegates from the University of St Andrews had a chance to catch up this week in Prague, to reflect on past successes within their partnership agreement and build on further cooperation in the future.
