Vojtěch Frankl, Student of Musicology at CUFA, Receives Award for the Best Student Paper at an International Conference

Vojtěch Frank has received the prize for the best student paper at the annual conference on Russian music in Vipiteno, Italy. The award is conferred by the Institute for the Research of Russian Music. Mr Frankl’s paper was entitled “The Genre System of Isaak Dunaevsky Operettas in the Context of Gender and Culture”.

The association consists of Charles University, the Czech Technical University in Prague, Masaryk University in Brno, Palacký University in Olomouc, and the University of Chemistry and Technology in Prague.

4EU+ Alliance Wins Funding in European Universities Call

26th June 2019 saw the announcement of a much awaited decision by the European Commission on the first pilot European Universities call, choosing 17 ambitious projects from a total of 54. The good news for the 4EU+ Alliance, which includes Charles University, is that it is one of the consortia selected for funding – a decision of no small importance.

Centre of African Studies Founded at CUFA

The Centre of African Studies, founded on 15 May 2019, brings together experts and academics from all over the Czech Republic studying Africa from a wide range of perspectives – from zoology through natural science to political science and linguistics. The head of the centre is Professor Markéta Křížová, who is also Vice-Dean for International Relations at CUFA.
