Prof Tomáš Halík Received Two Major Awards
The International Institute for Hermeneutics at the University of Warsaw appointed Tomáš Halík (Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies, Faculty of Arts, Charles University) an honorary professor. Simultaneously, Prof Halík has become the first foreign laureate of Józef Tischner Award for prominent intellectuals, journalists, and social activists.
CU’s Discovery Service: Searching Made Easy
A little over two months ago, Charles University launched its new discovery service UKAŽ facilitating the simultaneous and smooth search of printed, digitised and electronic resources. The system was a complete redesign and streamlining of its forerunner, integrating the catalogues of more than 60 CU libraries.

The Centre for the Study of the Holocaust and Jewish Literature was established in 2010 at the Department of Czech and Comparative Literature at the Faculty of Arts, Charles University. It aims to study literature related to the Shoah/the Holocaust and Jewish cultures in the Czech Lands and Central Europe.
Jakub Mazanec Won the Science Slam
One of the two winners of the popular stand-up comedy show held annually at Charles University was a doctoral student of history, Jakub Mazanec, from the Faculty of Arts whose outstanding performance wowed not only the audience but the expert panel of judges at the multi-functional Kampus Hybernská.
