Looking Back at Prof Leopold Pospíšil. Archaeologist and his student, doc. Jaroslav Jiřík, remembers the world-renowned anthropologist

His work reflects the history of almost the entire discipline. Professor Leopold Pospíšil, an expert in the anthropology of law, professor emeritus of Yale University and former lecturer at Faculty of Arts, Charles University, passed away on 25 October 2021 aged 98 in New Haven, USA.

The Centre for the Study of the Holocaust and Jewish Literature Has Entered its Second Decade

The Centre for the Study of the Holocaust and Jewish Literature was established in 2010 at the Department of Czech and Comparative Literature at the Faculty of Arts, Charles University. It aims to study literature related to the Shoah/the Holocaust and Jewish cultures in the Czech Lands and Central Europe.

With great grief, we inform that on Monday, 11 October 2021, a long-term teacher of Mongolian studies and researcher of Mongolian philology, docent Jugder Luvsandorj, passed away aged 82 years.
