The two-year MA programme in East European Studies at the universities of Munich and Regensburg will welcome its twentieth cohort in the winter semester of 2023/24. Applications are accepted until 15 June 2023.

The Elite Graduate Programme in East European Studies is a degree programme offered jointly by the universities of Munich (LMU) and Regensburg (UR). It is directed at excellent students with a first degree (usually BA), fluency in German and basic knowledge of at least one East European language.

The programme’s goal is to convey interdisciplinary knowledge of East, East-Central and Southeastern Europe. In addition, valuable transferable skills are taught in a project course, a summer school in East Europe, an obligatory work placement related to East Europe, and through optional, exclusive soft skill seminars of the Elite Network of Bavaria. Universidade Federal Fluminense, Brazil – the Minor in Global Challenges with a focus on the topic of inequalities. The course is an interdisciplinary program that complements the student’s major, and it is offered entirely in a foreign language (English, Spanish, and/or French). Classes in the course may be offered either online, on-site, or in a hybrid format, as allowed by the current sanitary conditions and according to each teacher’s preference.
