The length of the Egyptian Underworld, as stated in the famous Amduat, is said to be 309 Iteru. The number has never been reasonably explained. This presentation will attempt to establish a calendrical setting of rebirth in connection with a precise explanation of the length, one that has some major implications with respect to the reckoning of the Egyptian Civil and lunar years.
