The newly established student academic journal The Protagonist is now inviting contributions to the first issue, focused on the topic of transnationalism.
- Accepted formats include academic articles, research-based reviews, opinion pieces, and interviews
- Articles should not exceed 5,000 words
- An abstract of 200-300 words is required
- Deadline for submissions: 15 April 2022 (to be sent via e-mail to: theprotagonistpress@gmail.com)
The editorial board particularly welcomes texts dealing with:
- Food, music, sports or fashion (as markers of identity)
- Works of fiction dealing with migration
- Hyphenated identities
- Re-immigration
- Post-colonial readings
- Personal accounts of working in academic environments across the boarders
- Community (ethnic enclaves, integration, language, cultural encounters)
- Language and bi- or multilingualism
- Negative reactions to transnational movement (racism, conservatism, loss of culture)
- National feelings/identity (country of origin vs. adopted country)
- 1st, 2nd, or later generation narratives
