Internationalisation as a Tool to Support the Study Success of Foreign Students

Institute for Languages and Preparatory Studies is celebrating 50 years as part of Charles University. It prepares foreign and international applicants for study (in Czech and English) in terms of language, field, and adaptation, works with students of accredited study programmes, provides language certification, and prepares teachers who teach Czech as a foreign or second language. In the year of its anniversary, the institute is organising a conference on 18 June 2024, focusing on the support of international students. It will combine the themes of internationalisation and the academic success of international students, and intends to link these issues to the life of universities as a whole and internationalisation for home students.

The conference aims to find answers to questions that everyone faces and to which there is no trivial answer, and to present tools that help to solve them and cope with unusual situations.

The conference will set out the theme through keynote speakers, present the main ideas in a panel discussion, and, in the subsequent afternoon workshops with panellists in each session, bring concrete tools and solutions to selected key topics with practical examples, joined by individual speakers with examples of good practice.
