This year, the twelfth international African studies conference VIVA AFRICA will be held at the Faculty of Arts, Charles University. The theme is the relationship between Africa and Europe in the past and the present with a focus on these parts of Europe that have participated in the colonial system, even though they had no colonies themselves (i.e. particularly most of the countries of the Central and Eastern Europe).
