Andreas Schurr: The Most Rigid Republicans Are Transformed as if by Magic

Center for Ibero-American Studies at CU FA invites all those interested in history of Latin America, and especially the mutual relations of Central Europe and the American continent, to the lecture of Andreas Schurr from European University Institute in Florence with the subtitle “Carl Sartorius, Hacienda Mirador and the Forgotten Liberal Support for the Mexican Empire. Andreas Schurr will present the results of his research in migration and identity formation processes as well as his research of the complicated history of the „Second Mexican Empire“, whose protagonist was Maximilian of Habsburg. The lecture will take place on Tuesday, 29 October 2024, from 3:50 pm in the room 408 in Voršilská 1.
