Fifteen study programmes at Charles University have achieved excellent results in the international university evaluation Quacquarelli Symonds QS World University Rankings by Subject for 2016.
For 2016, Charles University is one of the best universities for English language and literature; history; linguistics; modern languages; philosophy (art studies and humanities); information technologies (engineering and technical subjects); biology; medicine; pharmaceutics (life sciences and medical subjects); chemistry; geography; environmental studies; mathematics; physics and astronomy (natural sciences); and economics and econometrics (social sciences and management).
As in the past years, geography achieved the highest ranking and landed in top 100 subjects; modern languages and philosophy belong to the first 150; and English language and literature, history, linguistics, pharmaceutics, mathematics, and medicine are among the best 200.
This year, the British QS World University Rankings by Subject evaluated forty-two subjects. In total, approximately 2,700 universities from all over the world were evaluated.
