At the end of the international Prague Summer School of Chinese Poetry, organized by the Chiang Ching-kuo Foundation International Sinology Centre att Charles University in early September, Prof Maghiel van Crevel from the University of Leiden presented Dr Šárka Masárová with a precious gift for the library of the Department of Sinology at CU FA. He donated the first two issues of the legendary samizdat magazine Jintian 今天, which began to be published in Beijing in late 1978 during the civil movement of the Democracy Wall.
Prof van Crevel thus symbolically initiated a collaboration in education and research of modern Chinese literature between the CU FA department and the Institute of Area Studies at Leiden University.
