Prof. Miroslav Bárta Became a New Member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences

The Academy has named the Egyptologist and archaeologist from the Czech Institute of Egyptology at CU FA on 19 April 2023. He has become one of more than 40 International Honorary Members from 23 countries.

Prof. Miroslav Bárta is the head of Czech research on the pyramid field in Abusir and the author seven-rule civilization development theory. His scientific interest mainly includes archaeology and the 3rd and 2nd millennia B.C history. He is intensively focused on the relationship between man and the landscape in antiquity, the development and collapse of complex societies. He also coordinates interdisciplinary research at the Czech Institute of Egyptology at CU FA and deals with the archaeological and cultural-historical background of the Old Testament.

The American Academy of Arts & Sciences, founded in 1780, is an honorary society that recognizes and celebrates the excellence of its members as well as an independent research center convening leaders from across disciplines, professions, and perspectives to address significant challenges.
