Komparatistická středa: Lorenzo Cigana

We cordially invite you to another lecture from the lecture cycle “Comparative Wednesdays.” The lecture will be delivered by Lorenzo Cigana (University of Copenhagen) on “Infrastructuralism” on Wednesday, 26 April 2023 from 5:30 pm in Sporck Palace, Hybernská 3, room No. 18.

Our lecture will present the project “Infrastructuralism” carried out at the University of Copenhagen between 2019 and 2023 focused on the digitalisation of the unpublished documents of the archives of the most important Danish structural linguists between 1920 and 1960, namely: Louis Hjelmslev, Hans Jørgen Uldall, Jens Holt, Eli Fisher Jørgensen, Paul Diderichsen, Henning Spang-Hanssen and, additionally, Francis J. Whitfield. The lecture will discuss the relevance of this endeavour in the light of 1) the international network of similar projects and outputs across Europe and America; 2) the landscape and requirements belonging to digital humanities the project had to face; 3) the concrete framework and theoretical outputs of the project, in the wake of cultural heritage in the broadest sense. https://glossematics.dk/app
