Embassy of Lithuania in the Czech Republic cordially invites you to a discussion dedicated to the 700-year anniversary of Vilnius that will take place on Thursday, 30 March, 18:00–21:00, in the Parish of St. Vojtěch, Vojtěšská 214, Prague 1 – Nové Město. The discussion will be held in English with Czech simultaneous interpretation.
The speakers are:
- Laimonas Briedis, a writer and scholar of history and literature (Canada/Lithuania)
- Lara Lempert, Head of Judaica Research Centre at the Martynas Mažvydas National Library of Lithuania
- Siarhiej Šupa (Сяргей Шупа), journalist and literary translator (Czech Republic).
The evening is moderated by Maciej Ruczaj, Director of Polish Institute Prague.
Special guests will read about Vilnius from Romain Gary’s internationally acclaimed The Promise at Dawn by:
