Due to a procedural problem, the Electoral Commission suspended and cancelled the ongoing elections to the Academic Curia of the Academic Senate of CU FA on Thursday morning, 5 December 2024. The new election will take place from Wednesday, 11 December (10:00 am), to Friday, 13 December 2024 (5:00 pm). The elections to the Student Curia remain unchanged.
“There were uncertainties in the employment relationship with CU FA of some candidates or in their pay grades, allowing them to run for the Senate. In accordance with the Electoral Regulations of the Academic Senate of CU FA (Article 5, paragraph 1), we had to exclude these candidacies from the candidate lists,” said Pavel Sládek, Chairman of the Election Commission, in an e-mail to eligible voters. He also assured that the commission is taking steps to prevent a similar problem from occurring in the future.
In order not to undermine the transparency and credibility of the results, the Election Commission, after consultation with the faculty’s Legal Services, decided to suspend the entire voting in the Academic Curia and annul the cast votes. The election application will be reopened from Wednesday, 11 December (10:00 am), to Friday, 13 December 2024 (5:00 pm).
Elections to the Student Curia remain unchanged. The results will be announced in accordance with the election regulations for both curiae at the same time, after the elections are closed on Friday, 13 December 2024.
