Miloš Vystrčil awarded the President of the Senate’s Silver Commemorative Medal to Dean Eva Lehečková and the Faculty of Arts, Charles University, for the sense and care for the community. The award ceremony took place at the Wallenstein Palace in Prague on 29 September 2024.
The award was received in proxy by Vice-Dean Andrea Hudáková and Vice-Chairman of the CU FA Academic Senate Kajetán Holeček with students and faculty staff in the audience. “The past months have shown what positive force there is in us as a collective. I am very proud of our entire faculty for that – proud of all students and staff. It was an honour to receive the award,” Kajetán Holeček said.
The President of the Senate’s Silver Commemorative Medal has been awarded since 2007 to eminent personalities among scientists, artists, athletes, and other public figures who excel in their fields or have done special deeds or abilities. In the past years, the Silver Medal has been awarded to a number of personalities associated with CU FA, including Prof. Tomáš Halík and Prof. Alena Macurová.
“The Silver Medal is not only an acknowledgement and an award but also a milestone and a message. It is a message that you are on the right track,” Miloš Vystrčil said in his speech to the laureates.
