On 19–23 June 2023, thirteen medievalists from CU FA participated in an international conference organised in cooperation between Charles University and Universitetet i Bergen within the project of the EEA and Norway Grants Bilateral Initiative.
The conference focused on the use of modern technologies and digital tools in research work and popularization of medieval cultural heritage. During this event, historians, philologists, and archaeologists working in the digital humanities had the opportunity to share their research and experiences and to inspire each other.
The diverse five-day programme included presentations of several projects carried out at both universities in fields ranging from linguistics and codicology to archaeology. The programme also included a tour of medieval monuments in Bergen, accompanied by a lecture on advances in their digital visualisation.
The established cooperation with both Universitetet and Bergen will yield concrete results, especially in the field of corpus linguistics and the presentation of medieval cultural heritage.
