Student Production of William Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night

Every year, a group of students from Charles University prepares a production of a play by William Shakespeare under the direction of Mr John Martlew. This year, they have chosen the comedy Twelfth Night in the original Elizabethan English.

All performances take place in Divadlo Na Prádle and start at 19.00. There are three dates: 31 March, 2 & 3 April. Tickets are available from the theatre or at the Faculty of Arts (200 CZK, students 150 CZK).

Invitation:

„Better a witty fool, than a foolish wit.“

In the household of Countess Olivia, two campaigns are being quietly waged – one by the lovesick Duke Orsino against the heart of the indifferent Olivia; the other by an alliance of servants and hangers-on against the highhandedness of her steward, the pompous Malvolio. When Orsino engages the cross-dressed Viola to plead with Olivia on his behalf, a bittersweet chain of events follows.

Shakespeare Production presents William Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night, directed by John Martlew, featuring Sára Benešová, Pavel Ďuriš, David Fojtík, Juraj Horváth, Martin Churavý, Mikhail Kiristaev, Vojětch Kudla, Mikuláš Mařík, Michal Otáhal, Tezera Ottová, Tim Postovit, Tomáš Suchánek, Katrina Trompak, and others.
