At the end of April, the Armenian ambassador, His Excellency Mr. Tigran Seiranian, the Counsellor of the Embassy, Ms. Nouneh Zastoukh, and the Rector of the Yerevan State University, Professor Aram Simonyan, visited the Jan Palach Library. Together with the Dean of CUFA, Doc. Mirjam Fried, the Vice-Dean for Information Resources, Dr. Ondřej Tichý, the Director of the CUFA Library, Dr. Klára Rösslerová, and the Director of the Jan Palach Library, Jan Kamenický, they launched the new collection of Armenian literature. The collection was assembled from CUFA’s libraries in 2014 and it has been processed thanks to the generous support of the Armenian embassy in Prague. The users of the CUFA Library may search for the titles in the Charles University Central Index (Ckis.cuni.cz), or just browse through them in the green study room of the Jan Palach Library (under the painting of Mount Ararat). The Embassy of Armenia in Prague has also promised to make further book donations in the future so that the collection could be expanded. The importance of this event for the Armenian community in the Czech Republic is documented in the article published in the Armenian magazine Orer.
