Russian Learner Corpus (RLC)středa 26. dubna | 9:00–10:30 | nám. Jana Palacha 2, Praha 1 (FF UK, hlavní budova, místnost č. 417) |
The talk gives an insight into the Russian Learner Corpus (RLC) – the first annotated learner corpus of Russian containing data from two sets of speakers – heritage learners and L2 learners. Among the structuring principles that underlie RLC discussed here are data characteristics, metainformation, annotation guidelines and the platform that uniquely integrates text pre-analysis / tagging and search tools. The second part of the talk presents illustrations of various linguistic issues to be approached with the Corpus. |
Lexical typology – verbs of falling across languagesstředa 26. dubna | 18:00–19:30 | nám. Jana Palacha 2, Praha 1 (FF UK, hlavní budova, místnost č. 225) |
The talk discusses predicates with the semantics of falling in a cross-linguistic perspective. The methods employed to analyse the domain are developed by the Moscow Lexical Typology (MLexT) Group and are based on detecting combinability restrictions of lexical items. These restrictions are further used to establish typologically relevant parameters that operate within a lexical domain. The talk gives a detailed overview of such relevant parameters and their grounds in the FALLING domain, and provides examples of their lexical manifestations from different languages. |
