On Thursday 8 December 2016, the Faculty of Arts received a delegation from the Guangdong University of Foreign Studies (GDUFS), Canton Province in South China. The Guangdong University is home to one of key research centres in the humanities and social sciences in China and focuses especially on intercultural studies. Currently, the university aims to broaden its offer of Slavic languages and to establish, apart from departments of Polish and Russian studies, also a department of Czech philology.
The Department of Czech Studies, CUFA, is deeply engaged in the process of establishing a specialised department of Czech studies in China. The visit of the Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages and Cultures, Professor Yang Ke, has crowned the period of intense preparations of an inter-university agreement between CUFA and GDUFS.
