"The combination of diversity of disciplines and outstanding quality of scholarly output creates the unique environment of an elite university centre with an impact that extends beyond the Czech context. This, of course, must be reflected in publishing activity, covering the whole wide range of subject fields cultivated by the Faculty. The publications authored by Faculty members often represent the highest standard of specialised knowledge and serve as basic reference titles in their fields. For several years now, the flagship of the Faculty of Arts editorial activity, the prestigious OPERA FACULTATIS PHILOSOPHICAE UNIVERSITATIS CAROLINAE PRAGENSIS series, has been introducing exceptional works affirming the prestige of our study fields. The traditional ACTA UNIVERSITATIS CAROLINAE edition series has been joined more recently by the exclusively Faculty monographic series MNEMOSYNE, TRIVIUM, FONTES and HUMANITAS.
Besides these regular series the Faculty publishes several truly representative individual works from the humanities field every year. The wide range of study fields is logically reflected in the Faculty journals that are published several times a year, often in foreign languages. The publishing activities on our academic soil are expanding significantly in that direction, too. I believe that the publishing activities of the Faculty of Arts of Charles University in Prague are thematically so multifarious and of such outstanding quality that the output is able to address both the broadest specialised and the lay public."
