Academic Qualifications
The professional development of academicians – lecturers and associate professors – is one of the FACU priorities aiming to ensure the continuity of the special character and high standard of individual centres. In compliance with the requirements of the Czech university system, academic staff enhance their qualifications in habilitation or professor degree proceedings. This, however, is not the only way in which academicians can valorise their scientific or teaching work. Both Charles University and the Faculty of Arts regularly present special awards and honorary degrees to members of the academic community for extraordinary achievements or for lifelong work. The high standard of research performed at the Faculty of Arts is reflected in the large number of awards received by our students, graduates and academicians from other institutions. The Faculty of Arts in Prague also presents awards to scholars from other universities or research institutions, including international ones.
